Superhorse Guidelines

There will be a central entry process for all events.  Via web-site and or phone number please keep checking our web site for more entry information. There will also be a cut-off entry deadline 1 week prior to every event unless that event has a different policy. If you can't meet this time frame, please contact Darren Moore. Each event will have a flyer describing event location, schedule, site specific rules and directions.

Superhorse Qualifier

In conjunction with other events, if there are time constraints there is now a Superhorse Qualifier. Entry fees will be $150.00. Same format and percentages of payback as listed below. These will be onsite entry events. Books will close one hour prior to start of the event. The points system is as follows is for individual events and overall Superhorse.

  • 10th placing horse & rider will receive 1 point

  •  9th place horse & rider will receive 2 points

  •  8th will receive 3 points

  •  7th will receive 4 points

  •  6th will receive 5 points

  •  5th will receive 6 points

  •  4th will receive 7 points

  •  3rd will receive 8 points

  •  2nd will receive 9 points

  •  1st will receive 10 points

All Superhorse qualifiers will have one go around of each event. All Superhorse Competitions will have two go arounds of each event. 

Superhorse Competitions

Entry fees will be $300.00 at each event with 80% payback!  Plus there will be added monies at all events.  We will pay 10% to each event example:  of the 80% payback 10% will go to the fastest times on 2 in the breakaway roping, 10% will go to the barrel racing fastest times on 2 runs, 10% will go to the mounted shooting fastest times on 2 runs.  Added monies plus the 70% will go to the overall average or aggregate on all 3 events for payback.  

Paybacks will be 1 place for every 5 riders up to 5 places maximum.

Payback percentages:

  •  0-5 riders 1 place  100%

  •  6-10 riders 2 places 60% 40%

  •  11-15 riders 3 places 50% 30% 20%

  •  16-20 riders 4 places 40% 30%20%10%

  •  21-74 riders 5 places 28% 25% 20% 15% 12%

  •  75-plus riders 6 places 26% 22% 18% 15% 12% 7%

If the number of entries exceeds 75 per gender the paybacks will be 6 places for that event. 

All event points and monies will be gender split.  Ladies will not compete against the men.

In the case that we will have more than one arena available we will run each event simultaneously depending on number of contestants.

There will be 2 go-rounds minimum for each event.  Depending on locations and time constraints we will have a short go. (2 rounds and a final)

We will be keeping track of points and monies won for each category to determine the year end superhorse champion.  We will also have year - end awards for each category for the high point breakaway horses, barrel racing horse, and shooting horse.  Points and monies won will be available on-line for tracking.

We will be keeping track of points and monies won for each rider as well.

Due to the possibility of ownership changing, all points and monies are retained by the horse.  In the case of the rider changing horse in the year, points and monies start over. Horse must have competed at 50% of competitions to compete at Finals.

Points will be given down thru 10th place in each category and for the overall as well.  There may only be 5 places paid but you will receive points down thru 10th.

Point System:  The top 10 horses & Riders  will receive points from 10 to 1st in each category,

  • 10th placing horse & rider will receive 2 point

  •  9th place horse & rider will receive 4 points

  •  8th will receive 6 points

  •  7th will receive 8 points

  •  6th will receive 10 points

  •  5th will receive 12 points

  •  4th will receive 14 points

  •  3rd will receive 16 points

  •  2nd will receive 18 points

  •  1st will receive 20 points

Points for the overall Superhorse & Rider will be as follows:

  •  10th place will receive 10 points

  •  9th will receive 20 points

  •  8th will receive 30 points

  •  7th will receive 40 points

  •  6th will receive 50 points

  •  5th will receive 60 points

  •  4th will receive 70 points

  •  3rd will receive 80 points

  •  2nd will receive 90 points

  •  1st will receive 100 points

Your 2008 single memberships will be included with your entries to all events; there will be a renewal for 2009.

2008 single memberships are $60.00 per year, family memberships are$100.00,  single lifetime memberships are $550 and family lifetime memberships are $650.

There is currently a on-line process for memberships.

Should your horse become injured, dies, or is sold before, on the way to, or prior to event starting you may substitute, or replace with another horse. After Superhorse event has started, no vet draw outs. Note: all points earned on the substituted or replaced horse will be tracked for year-end prizes and awards separately.

There will is a point system implemented for each respected category to help determine year-end winners.  We will be awarding prizes for the top 5 horses in each of the 3 categories.

The year-end Superhorse Champion will be a cumulative of total points for all categories at all events sponsored by the Superhorse Championship.

We have a Amateur division and a Pro division to each gender. The Amateur division consists of the horses registration with AQHA or respected breed association to be in the rider-owners name, this will be enforced! The Pro division will be for the horse and rider to be different (i.e.; Trainer).   

Dress code purpose is to promote a professional superhorse event with modern rodeo attire.  Western hat (felt, straw or palm),  boots should be of western style (no roper shoes or packers), long western pants, and shirts are to be long sleeved button down or snapped with a western collar are required at all times when in the arena. Sponsor/logo shirts are encouraged.
